Bensberg, April 5, 2005 – Girindus AG, a company listed in the Prime Segment of the German Stock Exchange specializing in process development and the production of innovative drug and cosmetic actives, herewith categorically denies false accusations which have been publicly spread by alleged animal protection organizations concerning the company and its subsidiaries in the USA.

The company and its American subsidiaries are currently being described in various forms of media as being supposed customers of Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) for animal experiments. In this context, untrue allegations based on false information are being published on the Internet concerning the company and its subsidiaries. Members of management, employees and their relatives are also being personally attacked.

The truth is:

• Neither Girindus AG nor any one of its subsidiaries are or were customers of HLS or made any financial contributions to HLS.

Girindus intends to take legal action against these false accusations.
