Cincinnati, November 24, 2008. Girindus a service provider to the pharmaceutical industry and a leading manufacturer of therapeutic oligonucleotides, announced details to hold the first Girindus Leadership in Oligonucleotides Symposium (G.L.O.S.) March 31 and April 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. This inaugural event will showcase high level technical talks from leaders in the oligonucleotide field, and is aimed to become one of the "must-attend" meetings for members of the oligonucleotide community.
Scott Watson, VP of Sales and Marketing, is extremely pleased with the caliber of speakers who have agreed to speak at the event, stating, "Our goal is to create an event which will provide valuable and timely information for scientists and leaders in the oligonucleotide area. Girindus will unveil its US $ 5.2 Mio. expansion wing, as well as an oligonucleotide ”Wall of Fame“ during the two day event. Keynote speaker Dr. Marvin Caruthers of the University of Colorado at Boulder will be presented with the first Girindus Leadership in Oligonucleotides Award honoring his significant contributions to the field. Dr. Kelvin Ogilvie, inventor of the Gene Machine, will give a keynote address on the first 50 years of oligonucleotide synthesis.
